Lichen Duster - Sew Liberated - Paper Sewing Pattern
Regular price £21.00The versatile Lichen Duster can be worn as a lightweight coat, wrap dress, or robe - a true capsule wardrobe workhorse! Its shawl collar, princess seams, unique pockets, four skirt gores and hand-stitched facings make it a beautiful heirloom piece. Style it over dresses and jumpsuits, or jeans and tees. Use your own belt or wrap the included fabric belt around your waist, tucking in the ends, for a chic morning-to-evening dress. The Lichen can be made with a sweeping high-low hem or a straight hem.
Depending on the fabric you choose, the Lichen Duster can be worn in cold or warm weather. It is unlined, constructed with front and back facings of the same fabric. We recommend mid-weight linen or yarn-dyed cotton for all-season wear. More advanced sewists can branch out and choose mid-weight wool or even silk or silk velvet.
The pattern includes sizes 0-30.
Level: Intermediate (If someone has sewn the Hinterland Dress, they should be equipped to sew the Lichen. The pattern will help you practice many skills, including shawl collar construction, princess seams, French seams, facings, and hand finishing. And we have a detailed Sew-Along to help your customers along!)

How are our fabrics sold?
You can choose your length required.
For quilting cotton, quarter metre can be cut as Fat Quarter or Long Quarter.
For dressmaking fabric, quarter metre will be cut as Long Quarter
ONE Quarter metre in FAT quarter piece measures approximately 50cm x 55cm.
ONE Quarter metre in LONG quarter piece measures approximately 25cm x width of fabric.
ONE Half metre piece measures approximately 50cm x width of fabric.
ONE 0.75 metre piece measures approximately 75cm x width of fabric.
ONE 1 metre piece measures approximately 100cm x width of fabric.
If more than ONE is ordered, you will receive a CONTINUOUS LENGTH.
Can we supply fabrics in continuous lengths?
Yes, unless otherwise stated, all multiples quantity purchased will be sent in one continuous piece.
What is a 'fat' quarter?
A fat quarter is a quarter metre of fabrics, cut to about 50cm x width of fabric. Please see the diagram below.
