This is a nylon zip with #5 coil. The zipper have the appearance of metal teeth. Perfect for bag making or applications where heavier zipper is needed. These are continuous zipper coil, and you can put zipper pulls on from either direction to make double-pull zippers. Cut them as long or as short as needed.

Each metre of tape comes with ONE rectangular zipper pull. Additional zipper pulls can be purchased from our shop. Zipper pulls are available in many different styles.

You can now coordinate your zipper tape with your fabric and match your nylon coil teeth with your bag hardware. Nylon teeth coil is easy to cut and sew too.

To install the zip pulls to the zipper:

1) Open one end of the zipper by a few inches, as the coil works both ways, it doesn't matter which end you open.

2) Holding the zipper pull, with the round side down, slide one side of the zipper tape up into the slider. Don't pull it all the way through, stop just when it catches inside. Hold this with one hand.

3) Slide the other side of the tape up into the slider with the other hand. Once you feel the resistance from the other tape, gently push both tape through the pull with equal pressure. Once you can see both tape emerge from the other end of the pulls with teeth locked in place correctly, you can firmly pull the zipper pull down.

Can I return an item?
Yes, you can return items in their original condition within 7 days of receipt for a full refund. Please contact us before sending any returns.

Are there items that cannot be returned?
Yes, we cannot accept returns on:

Cut lengths of fabric, trims, or haberdashery (unless faulty)
Gift cards

How do I initiate a return?
Email us at hello@purple-stitches.com with your order details. Make sure the items are unused and in original packaging.
We recommend using a tracked service, as we can’t be responsible for returns lost in the post.

🧵 Fabric Sizes & Cutting

How are fabrics sold?
You can choose the length you need when ordering.

For quilting cotton, a quarter metre can be cut as a Fat Quarter or a Long Quarter
For dressmaking fabrics, a quarter metre will be cut as a Long Quarter

Fabric measurement guide:

ONE Fat Quarter = approx. 50cm x 55cm
ONE Long Quarter = approx. 25cm x width of fabric
ONE Half metre = approx. 50cm x width of fabric
ONE 0.75 metre = approx. 75cm x width of fabric
ONE 1 metre = approx. 100cm x width of fabric

Can I get fabric in a continuous length?
Yes! Unless otherwise stated, all multiple units will be cut and sent in one continuous piece.

What is a Fat Quarter?
A Fat Quarter is a quarter metre of fabric cut to approximately 50cm x 55cm—wider and shorter than a standard long strip. It’s great for quilting and smaller craft projects.

🎟️ Retreats

Are retreat payments refundable?
Retreat payments are non-refundable. However, you can transfer your place to someone else — just let us know their details.

What if Purple Stitches cancels the retreat?
You’ll receive a full refund if we cancel the event.

Do I need travel insurance?
Yes — we strongly recommend that all retreat participants take out travel insurance to protect against unforeseen circumstances.

🔧 How to Attach a Zipper Pull:

Open one end of the zipper tape by a few inches. (Since the coil is reversible, either end works.)
Hold the zipper pull with the rounded side facing down.
Insert one side of the zipper tape into the slider just until it catches — don’t pull it through yet.
Insert the other side of the tape into the slider until you feel resistance.
Push both sides through gently but firmly until the coil teeth align and emerge from the other end.
Once in place, pull the zipper pull firmly to secure.
